An actinic keratosis (also known as a solar keratosis) is a common skin condition caused by sun damage over years. Symptoms include rough, scaly patches on sun-exposed areas including face, with a greater prevalence in older people. While it is generally harmless, a small percent can turn pathological therefore monitoring is advised.

SYMPTOMS
Causes thickened dry, crusty lump or lesion with scales on the surface of sun-damaged skin, that may have a light, dark or pink base, and red-brown cover w/wo itchiness or tenderness. Notably these slow-growing lesions can pose a risk of malignancy so need to be checked by a doctor/dermatologist
